A tribute to our loved ones on Father’s Day
When we are young, we see our fathers as our protectors and our guardians and someone we respect and a good example to follow. Even though they can be tough sometimes, they remain and are appreciated for their strength and wisdom. Fathers don’t have to be biological or of the same culture or race, a good father raises his children with integrity, pride, honor and love. If he is strong, then we are strong and follow his example. I often think about my own father who didn’t have the greatest start in life, but he was a great father to me and my brother and loved us unconditionally. My husband is a great example to our children and has supported and encouraged them in anything they have wanted to do. A man who has given them as many strong hugs whenever they have needed it. His heart is filled with love and pride, and he has taught them to always believe in themselves, which has given them confidence and determination to be successful and follow their dreams. Father’s Day gives us a great chance to celebrate our fathers and show them how much we love them. I asked a friend of mine what he loves about Father’s Day, and he said, “anything that my daughters make for me because it’s so special and comes right from the heart”. He is a good father; a man filled with love for his family who appreciates them.
In appreciation for all the fathers out there, here are a few ideas to make them feel special.
- BREAKFAST IN BED. Surprise dad with a tray full of his favorite breakfast items and sit together and read his FATHER’S DAY CARDS. Put your own twist on breakfast!
2. DINNER PARTY – Host a dinner party for him and his buddies! It’s a great time for him to hang out with his friends and have some fun. Include a trivia game and a horseshoe tournament.

3. FAMILY PICKLEBALL TOURNAMENT. Reserve a game time for the whole family!
4. MAKE A FAMILY PHOTO COLLAGE TOGETHER. Put all your favorite moments together in a beautiful collage of wall art. It’s fun and you can share all your great memories forever.

5. HIT THE GOLF COURSE. Set up a tee time and even have his golf clubs and shoes all ready. Also add a surprise GOLF TRUNK ORGANIZER BAG!

6. PIZZA MAKING – One of the most fun things my children loved to do with their father was to make their own pizza’s. They would choose their own toppings, and this can be very creative! Make it easy with this Countertop Pizza Maker.
7. SET UP YOUR OWN OUTDOOR MOVIE THEATRE. We set this up on several occasions. We converted our garden chaises into snuggly beds with pillows, made our own POPCORN and snacks. A great family fun time, the size of the SCREEN attracted many of our neighbors and their children.
8. FAMILY GAME TOURNAMENT – Set up games in your backyard. Invite your family and friends and make it a potluck with everyone bringing a dish to share. Have the dads compete together against everyone else.
9. OUTDOOR PICNIC – one of our favorite’s things to do was to jump on our bikes and head out to the park for a band concert. We had our picnic supplies, fold up chairs and folding table. What a great way to spend time together as a family. If bike riding is not for you, walking with all your supplies in a cart including the kiddo’s is a fun option.
10. JIGSAW PUZZLE – Perfect for a rainy day or if you just feel like staying in and spending quality time with dad. Put a jigsaw puzzle together. A great way for dad to relax and enjoy his day. No matter what age you are, there is always a puzzle to fit your personality.
